Up In Smoke

The Holloway Fire has now consumed 432,378 acres in northern Nevada and southeastern Oregon.  By the numbers: There are 817 people working on it, 49 engines, 25 bulldozers, 12 water tenders, and 6 helicopters.  At this posting it is about 68% contained.

The fire management team has pictures posted here.   It’s best to look at the pictures posted because the 74 miles from McDermitt to Winnemucca along U.S. Highway 95 are smoke filled, and in the evening it’s difficult to discern what has burned and what hasn’t.

Meanwhile, the Bull Run Complex fire in Elko County is about 55% contained and has 738 firefighters assigned to the area.  The Willow Fire in Elko County is 95% contained.  The Long Canyon Fire in Humboldt County is 95% contained.
